‘Awakening’, a 100 days perpetual Eucharistic Adoration initiative is happening all across the UK. On Monday 3rd April at St Joseph’s Church, there will be Adoration from 8.30am until 6pm (pausing only for Mass at 9.30am) come and make the most of this awesome opportunity to be in the Holy presence of the Eucharistic Lord. Come join us as one family in prayer as we pray especially for the church in UK, vocations and those persecuted around the world. Pray for as long as you want.

Alpha in a Catholic Context - Taster Sessions


What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. Who’s it for? Alpha is for anyone’s who’s curious. The talks are designed to encourage conversation and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. When? This will take place on Saturday 1st April at English Martyrs it begins with tea and coffee at 9.30am and will conclude at 2.30pm. This event is aimed at those curious about Alpha who are open to helping run it in the parish later in the year. A light lunch will be provided. You can find out more about Alpha here


Screwtape Letters in Lent

During Lent there will be a series of group discussions on C. S. Lewis’ wonderful book ‘The Screwtape Letters’. The first meeting will be at 6.45pm at English Martyrs on Sunday 5th March. Reading the letters would be a great Lenten project with the potential for tremendous spiritual growth.
